- My theory of writing before this class was just to write papers about the topic. I stayed at the surface level and never went beyond that. I did not have the drive to look further for the reasoning behind the topic in order to better develop my papers.
- I think with every paper that I have written, my theory of writing has gotten better. I better understand the way a paper should be written and the way the information should flow. I add more details to make the paper more comprehensive so any reader could enjoy it not just ones that specialize in the topic of the paper.
- What has contributed most to my development and papers was research. Doing my own research for papers was a huge one for me. I rarely did any research for my papers. Before, I would just write about the topic on hand without digging in deeper. Usually research was something we did in class already, so I didn’t have to look beyond that on my own.
- My relationship between the 2 is that I have used my writing skills to understand the topic more than ever before. Before I wrote the Herbalife paper, I barely knew anything about the company and the products that they sell. I knew I didn’t like it, but I wasn’t really sure why. Learning about it made my knowledge of Herbalife grow, therefore giving me a new insight on what it actually is and why I truly dislike it. I also feel that I am able to better educate others about the product as many around me use these supplements.
- With what I have learned, I can now apply my new methods by using them to do more research and being comfortable with branching out and learning more about the topics at hand. I can also back my opinions with facts. I know understand that paper can be more fluid and does not mean an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion. As long as I am getting my point across and answering the statement at hand, my paper can be formatted anyway.
